Born in Hyderabad, India in 1978, Pratima Aravabhoomi moved to the United States after marriage and has lived across Atlanta, Silicon Valley, and is currently based between Florida and New Jersey. Her grandfather was a poet; her father a geologist whose work took the family across India. She holds a degree in Computer Science and built a career spanning technology and design. Growing up, she absorbed the textures around her: graffiti dissolving over old stone, temple stones worn smooth by monsoon, the silk of her mother's saris against her hands. These early encounters with surfaces that hold time became the foundation of her artistic sensibility.

In 2019, an experience at a meditation retreat compelled her to make art, a way to reach what language could not hold. Her body of work, Humanscapes, explores the interior life we share. A small figure, often a child, inhabits deeply layered grounds, held within them the way memory is held. The thesis is both intimate and universal: that if you go inward far enough, the interior is shared.

Her work has been exhibited nationally, including at Harvard University, Palmer Art Gallery, and at art fairs including Spectrum Miami, ArtExpo New York, and The Other Art Fair. She was named a finalist in the Artist's Magazine Best of Acrylic Works in 2025. Her work is held in private and corporate collections across the United States.
